before breakfast My Trier watched this video and this video and learnt about slavery
as he did the breakfast dishes he again listened to he Ali Baba tape
Music and reading using this story The Tale of Tsar Saltan that can be found here I found some art work to illustrate the story. We read about Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov and then listened to The Flight of the Bumble Bee on UTube. Then we explored the fact that he used the voilin, the string family and flute to convey the tune and flight of the bumble bee. Then I allowed Billy to play around with the orchestra. We used this site to complete this last bit of the study.
My Trier was very interested this morning so I will copy this lesson plan again and study another composer again next week

national mudslide afternoon with the Scouts and Sea Scouts
a fun afternoon
A news story about the eventĀ
In the evening we went to a Christian concert. It was AWESOME. I unfortunately forgot my memory stick for my camera. The main band (Missy O’Day) sang and acted out a dramatic retelling of the Jesus story. Afterwards I found some of the band and told them how awesome they were.

My Trier wanted to cut his second break short this morning. He was keen to keep working. Sometimes I need the break as much as he does. I told him Id be there to start work again soon. When the break was over I went into the bed/school room to find he had already started doing his maths. I praised him for his self motivation and happily left him to do his maths.
